Drag Brunch & Pool Party at the Country Club

  • Burger Budget Breakdown:
    • Pool entry is $10 Monday to Wednesday and $15 Thursday to Sunday.
    • Drinks are around $5 to $12
    • Entrees are in the $12-$19 price range
    • Total: For a day at the pool, solid meal, and a strong buzz, you're looking at $60-$75

I'm just going to set the stage for this place so you best understand the type of establishment The Country Club is....

It's about noon on a Friday and I am more hung over than I have been in a while.  Inside is an over the top New Orleans style drag show dancing and weaving in and out of brunching diners. Outside, the pool is LIT. Flocks of friends starting their afternoon by taking it easy with a hard drink. Me on the other hand, I can barely lift my head or open my eyes. I made my way to the bathroom for a puke and rally and am met by a tan man in a speedo. We made eye contact, greet each other with a hello, and then he bends over to snort the pill he just openly just crushed on the counter top. That's when I decided it was probably a good idea to roll it on home for a nap.

I heard during my slumber that one of the misfit toys in my group of friends proceeded to black out, take his clothes off, and jump in the pool...not once but twice.  According to my sister, she "loved the Country Club because it's the only bar I've ever been to that someone gets completely nude and security just politely asks them to put their clothes back on..."

In his defense, this pool used to be a nude pool so I can see where the confusion came in as the drink consumption increased.

High Class at Soho Beach House

  • Steak Appetite: Membership to SoHo House can run ya up to $3,200 each year.
  • Burger Budget: A $50 all you can eat brunch buffet plus once mimosa every weekend in Miami!

I'm a hungry girl who likes to eat. I get down with all you can eat spots whether it's bottomless crab legs at China Wok or bottomless mimosas on a Sunday Sunday. So when I realized that Soho House in Miami offered a $50 all you can eat buffet (plus one mimosa,) I was all like..."count me IN." I immediately made reservations and prepared myself to feast.

Usually Soho Beach House is exclusive to members only but peasants like me are allowed to grace the property every Saturday and Sunday for brunch. To set the scene, Bae and I pulled to the complimentary valet surrounded by sky high palms and directly behind a chromed out Ferrari with the license plate that read..."Oil." Yup.

We were escorted out to a sun soaked dining area with accents of sea foam green, deep lavender, indoor trees. The buffet itself is located inside the lobby of the hotel. Now let me tell you about this buffet, it offers everything your heart can desire.  You want sweet? Got that. You want savory? Got that.  From made to order ceviche to carving station to a full dessert table, Soho House offers it all. I usually gage how high class a party is by whether it has all you can eat shrimp or not, so when I saw the buffet had that as well as raw oysters and scallops, I knew this place was legit.  I went in on the lox and bagel with truffle cream cheese too. I even happened to run into a Miami based blogger, Le.Haute.Sauce, I happened to follow in order to prepare for the trip. I introduced myself and hoped she didn't notice the mixture of chocolate and cocktail sauce drizzled onto my dress. *Monkey covering eyes emoji*

You really can't beat a $50 brunch AND photo opt spot in Miami! It's a must must must!
